The Allies Disobeyed The Father
Ladies and Gentlemen, I didn’t write this one. Just wanted you to know about it.
The widespread myth that Israel is occupying stolen land is being torn apart by a little-known treaty that was signed last weekend exactly 100 years ago that politicians and the media prefer to ignore.
On April 26, 1920, the Allied victors of World War one agreed in the spa resort of San Remo on the Italian Riviera on a document establishing r national home Tätte for the Jewish people. In doing so, they gave the Balfour Declaration of 1917 legal status, with which the British government promised to do everything in its power to that end.
A few weeks later , Allied troops’ capture of Jerusalem ended the 400-year-old Ottoman Empire, opening the door to immediate implementation of the declaration.
What is generally accepted by Bible believers, namely that Israel has a divine right to the promised land, was based on this contract s to an earthly fact . And since it was never overridden, it still exists today.
The four main Allied powers of the war attended the conference in San Remo (now Sanremo), represented by the Prime Ministers of Great Britain (David Lloyd George), France and Italy, and by the Japanese Ambassador Keishiro Matsui, with the United States being observer.
Its purpose was to decide the future of the Middle East after the collapse of the Muslim empire mentioned above, with US President Woodrow Wilson promoting the idea of establishing new sovereign states instead of acquiring colonies. Lebanon, Syria, Mesopotamia (Iraq) and the Palestinian Territory (as it was then called) were the regions in question, and the UK was given a mandate for the latter, along with a mandate , to the area due to historical ties dating back over 3000 years, to prepare for a Jewish state.
The agreement was confirmed in 1922 by the Council of the League of Nations , the predecessor of the United Nations, with all 51 members voting in favor. The border in question was defined as the entire ” Palestine ” west of the Jordan, including what would become the “West Bank”. The latter emerged after the illegal annexation of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem by Jordan in 1949 . Only two countries worldwide recognized Jordan’s occupation, including Britain. The areas were recaptured by Israel in 1967 and considered since then as controversial.
It is these areas that clearly after the San Remo agreement with Israel belong . Wouldn’t it be time for our politicians and journalists to brush up on their story? After all, a state cannot “ illegally occupy ” an area that originally belonged to it !
Israel has been so established in international law, based on a promise that was originally commissioned by the British Foreign Secretary Lord Balfour and this was a recognition of God’s word itself, namely, given that the country the sons of Abraham as an eternal possession ( 1.Mose 15 , 18 ff; 17 , 8 and 22 , 17 f f). Britain’s policies had been encouraged by a number of evangelical leaders who understood the importance of Israel’s return to its ancient country, as prophesied in Scripture.
Other key factors were the repeated pogroms and general persecution of the Jews, which also performs the journalist Theodor Herzl to have to push the beginnings of resettlement by the Zionist movement.
Among the many restrictions imposed on the Jews over the centuries were , belonged to the denial of property rights . Perhaps the Corona Crisis is a perfect opportunity for the nations to correct the injustice in this whole area of Israel’s legitimacy? I think the current plague may well be related to the fact that nations generally have blood on their hands, especially with regard to abortion. Even Israel has guilty in this regard made , but it was also a victim of the nations that do not fast enough acted as the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps were known (s ee Isaiah 26 , 20f f ) . Only last week Israel celebrated its Holocaust Remembrance Day once again.
The things could get worse if we do not repent. The currently proposed in the UK abortion legislation , which allows killing a child at birth , is a frightening way comparable to that performed by the Nazis eugenics program that almost wiped out the Jews of Europe.
Last year, then Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt recognized Britain’s shocking role in denying Israel access to Jews who wanted to flee the Holocaust. E ine full apology for our betrayal of the sacred trust that we recieved to safeguard their interests , is long overdue.
The British ended their mandate administration in 1947 , but it did not prevent the rebirth of Israel, which was duly recognized by the required two-thirds majority in the UN, with Britain abstaining – and subsequently losing its empire!
All benefit from the Jewish people ( 1.Mose 12 , 3), except those who curse it. For example, nations like Britain that have embraced the gospel significantly and spread it abroad have experienced a special boom – until recently when they abandoned both God and his country.
Even Arabs living among Jews, give different surveys According to that – what jobs, pay and living conditions concerns – are better off than those under the rule of the Palestinian Authority. And we all benefit from Israel’s medical and technological expertise, as Prince Charles recognized on his recent visit.
But the most valuable of all gifts that Jews give to the world is the Word of God and our Redeemer Jesus, the Word made flesh.
Unlike much of Europe, Sanremo and the surrounding region were a beacon of hope and a new beginning for the Jewish people – from the nearby port of La Spezia, the first ship with Holocaust survivors set sail for Israel after the war.
A centenary conference was planned in Sanremo last weekend, and I was hoping to be able to attend it myself.
